Nothing looks good as healthy feels

Being healthy seems to be the world’s new trend, which is great because somehow people are looking for ways to improve their daily habits and, as the quote says, “become the best version of themselves”. After two decades of fast-food and high-processed/industrialized products, we’ve finally woke up to the fact that what we have been eating not only give us undesirable pounds but also affect negatively our mood, energy levels, and overall health.
When my clients approach me, more than 80% of them are looking for one thing: weight loss. But after a few weeks of our work together, I am happy to see them realize how much better they feel by giving their bodies real food and great nutrients. They don’t only start to lose weight and feel more energetic, they also start to love themselves more and more. And when they incorporate exercise to this equation, that’s when everything changes.
A few weeks ago, I was training one of my clients and she told me that for the first time in many years she was feeling strong and capable of doing whatever she pleases. In my opinion, that’s by far the most amazing thing of this healthy lifestyle: you feel in charge of your body, in control of your mind and stronger than ever.
Eating well is a way to love your body, and by treating yourself with love and respect, you automatically raise your self-esteem.
Exercises push your limits and it might be difficult to start with (it is indeed), but when you “cross that river”, the feeling of achievement gives you so much satisfaction that you don’t wanna stop, in fact, you feel unstoppable and strong - body and mind.
With mental strength, comes balance, another important factor of a healthy life and something that I always work with my clients.
After losing weight by having a clean diet, many of them feel afraid of eating anything that is not included on “that list” or, after a weekend of cheating (which sometimes happens to all of us), they feel as if they have failed. What I always tell them is: 1. We are humans, we won’t always be perfect. Accept that, “forgive yourself” and go back on track. Don’t let a mistake to be the reason to throw away all the hard work you have done already.
2. We have only one life and eating is one of the pleasures we have on this Earth, so it’s ok to get out of the line now and them and enjoy food that you love even if it’s not that healthy. When you decide to eat, eat with pleasure, not guilt.
3. Learn how to listen to your body and you will find your balance.
FINAL TIP: For whoever is reading this post and isn’t happy with their current body/health/life: you CAN change, it’s never too late - and I promise, you won’t regret!
